TTOA CET CONFERENCE 2020.
VISION 20/20 AND BEYOND!
24-26 JANUARY 2020
Continuing Education (CE) – you know you have to have it, but what exactly is it?!
CE for optometrists is defined by the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO) as the primary method used by optometric regulatory boards to promote the continuing competence of licensed optometrists (aka: if you don’t obtain it, you lose your license!). The Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE) was created by ARBO to accredit continuing education on behalf of optometric licensing boards.
General Optical Council: CET is a statutory requirement for all fully-qualified optometrists and dispensing opticians. The CET scheme is a points-based scheme that runs over a three-year cycle from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2021. All fully-qualified registrants must earn a minimum number of CET points and meet a minimum set of requirements by the end of each cycle to stay on the register.
The TTOA as an entity with the drive of many individuals that encapsulates many areas of the optometry community in Trinidad and Tobago has put an incredible amount of effort to push for an Optical Policy that would move the scope of optometry forward into the future. The policy will endeavor to protect and guide our profession to become one with the outside world, to the benefit of all involved.
The TTOAs' annual CET Conference 2020 will be held over the weekend of 24-26 January 2020.
We would like to thank the organizers of the event for delivering yet again on a very well organized and educational weekend. We would also like to thank our sponsors without whom we would not be able to deliver such a world-class event.
We look forward to seeing all our Caribbean partners, sponsors, optometrists, para-optometrists and dispensing opticians attending.
Early Bird Registration: Open - Ends November the 30th.
Any inquiries can be directed to Mrs. S Boodoo or Mr. P Rossouw.
